SPSI is a USCG verified Oil Spill Removal Organization
(OSRO #718), and SPSI is very experienced in
responding to oil, hazardous materials, and other
environmentally sensitive material spills and
cleanups associated with navigable waterways. As a
Level III CHLOREP contractor verified by the Chlorine
Institute, we also have unique capabilities for
Chlorine barge emergencies.
Aside from emergency response, SPSI’s services for waterway transportation
companies include safety and compliance training in the focus
areas of DOT Hazmat Employee programs, hazmat emergency
response and crisis management, and incident investigations.
Likewise, marine vessel operators, ports, and waterway
transfer facilities can contract SPSI for precautionary
containment boom deployments prior to product transfers,
and for full scale exercise deployments in support of drills and
response plan exercises.
